Tessa Thompson

Tessa Lynn Thompson, an artist and performer who hails from Los Angeles was born in 1983. Thompson is the daughter granddaughter of the singer Marc Anthony Thompson, as and actor Bobby Ramos. Her childhood was spent with her in Los Angeles, before she made the move to Brooklyn. She is of Mexican, British Isles and Afro-Panamanian descent. Thompson was a student at Santa Monica High School where she participated in many theatre productions. After graduating, she attended college at Santa Monica College, where she earned a master's degree in cultural anthropology. At Pasadena's Boston Court Theatre, she played Juliet in Shakespeare's "Romeo as well as Juliet". In the same year, her performance was awarded an NAACP Theatre Nomination.
